Our Shipping Practice advises owners, operators, P&I Clubs, banks, financial institutions, private investors and underwriters, in contentious and non-contentious work arising in the areas of shipping and yachting. We are proactive in providing solutions to the issues affecting the ownership, operation, management and financing of vessels, and representing clients in the resolution of all disputes, from those arising in the daily course of their business, to highly complex, high-value litigation.

We advise on litigation, both civil and criminal, and arbitration arising from vessel collisions and groundings, total losses, accidents at sea, salvage, cargo shortages, the carriage of goods by sea and marine insurance claims. We also represent clients in charter party and bill of lading disputes, personal injury and labour claims and in the case of vessel arrests. We provide strategic advice on the establishment of offshore and Law 89 companies and other corporate structures for the ownership of vessels and draft commercial agreements, including management and joint venture agreements. We act in ship and yacht sale and purchase, and advise on finance loans and security, as well as restructurings and foreclosures.

We work with correspondent firms to assist our clients in the global aspects of their business.
